Evelynn "Lynn" Ford

Evelynn “Lynn” Louise Ford, 81, of Crystal Lake, Illinois passed away March 6, 2024. Lynn was born on February 25, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Martin and Myrtle Zamecnik.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Jerome “Jerry” Ford; children, Suzanne (Kevin) Rewerts, and Pamela (Richard) Rafford; grandchildren, Andrew (Catherine) Rewerts, Adam Rewerts, Bradley (Kailey) Rafford, and Christopher Rafford; and great grandchild, Lincoln Rafford. Evelynn is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Myrtle Zamecnik, and brother, Gary Zamecnik.

Lynn met the love of her life, Jerry, after high school through mutual friends. Many dates were enjoyed at the drive-in movie theater. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on October 19, 1963. As a young couple, Jerry and Lynn moved to Des Plaines and begin their family. They met numerous lifelong friends in Des Plaines. Lynn also had a large group of friends from her childhood, who continued to be large part of her life. She was so thankful for all of them. Throughout her life, Lynn enjoyed reading, bowling, building her teddy bear collection, and traveling. Her best memories were created with her family in Northern Wisconsin, where she enjoyed watersports, snowmobiling, playing games, and relaxing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, from 4pm-8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory 419 E Terra Cotta Road, Crystal Lake, Illinois. A second visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 9am until the time of prayers at 930am at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal Lake. Following the second visitation will be a Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, Illinois. Burial will be private.
