John Edward Larsen

John Edward Larsen Sr., age 79, of Barrington, IL, passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2023.

John was born in Chicago, IL on February 22, 1944. He married his high school sweetheart, (the late) MaryAnn, in March of 1964. They were married for 45 years and together for 48 years. John was an avid golfer. He enjoyed boating and fishing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Additionally, he loved following politics and current events

John was a successful business owner. Even at a young age, he worked hard and aspired to be his own boss. Because of his work ethic and desire to take care of his family, he pursued his ambitions and dreams of starting and running as successful company. After retirement, he stayed active and involved in consulting.

John is survived by his loving children, Windi Whipple (Michael), John Larsen Jr., and Barbara Sutherland; cherished grandchildren, Spring Zimniewicz and Samara Ajredini; great-grandchildren, Nickolas Thornton and Sophia Zimniewicz ; close family friend, Xinglan Xiao and her daughter Hangxing Liu; and brothers, Robert Larsen (Linda), George Larsen.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, MaryAnn Larsen; parents, George and Suzanne Larsen; sister, Sue; and brothers, Richard and Tommy.

A visitation for John will be held from 10am until the funeral service at 12pm on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. Entombment to follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
