A contemporary cremation is where the cremation takes place followed by a memorial visitation and/or service. With a contemporary cremation there is no formal public viewing of the body and the date of the memorial visitation/service is flexible. Private family viewing or witnessing of cremation is available (see below for more information).
Packages A & B will include the Professional Services of our a funeral directors and staff which consists of the following: Personnel available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to your call to transfer the deceased from place of death to our funeral home; Care of the remains and Worry Free Cremation at Davenport Crematory; Arrangement conference to complete, secure and record the various documents; death certificate, Illinois County cremation permit (Cook County is an additional $50), etc. to finalize the funeral arrangements that you have selected; Initial notification of death to Social Security; Preparing obituaries
