Elaine Alice (Trisilla) Wasylowsky

January 15, 1937 — August 29, 2023

Davenport, Lake Zurich

Elaine Alice Wasylowsky, 86, of Barrington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 29th, 2023. She was born on January 15th, 1937, in Chicago, IL to Louis and Alice Trisilla.

Elaine met her beloved Wally at the Jewel in Chicago at the young age of 16. They married five years later and began their long, wonderful life together. She worked as a secretary until they moved overseas where they lived in Belgium and Germany. During those 13 years, they traveled extensively throughout Europe. They were blessed to have met many life-long friends.  In 1977 they moved to Barrington and lived there happily where Elaine enjoyed hosting family and friends. She spent countless hours volunteering at Good Shepherd Hospital and enjoyed being a member of St. Anne Church and the Barrington Women’s Club. Although she found working at Lutheran General as a Medical and Insurance Specialist for 14 years rewarding, her greatest accomplishment was her family.

Elaine set the gold standard on how to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life showing compassion and kindness. She had a beautiful soul and thoroughly enjoyed being actively involved with her family (attending school and sporting events, having sleepovers, playing Uno). Her cherished children and grandchildren were blessed to have her as a role model and often sought her advice as she was a great listener and gave valuable insight. She always put others before herself and instilled the values of care and compassion to her family. Elaine could be described as a classy, stylish lady and loyal friend who was always very put together. Rain or shine you could find her at the Beauty Shop on Friday afternoons.

Elaine's family and longtime friends relished her loving, caring, thoughtful, and comedic attitude. She was always able to light up the room and bring a smile to everyone’s face.  She was known to lovingly bring her husband pretzels, candy, and coffee whenever she had the chance, occasionally leaving a cup in the microwave. She loved going out to lunch and dinner with family and friends.  Elaine started her families’ Friday night pizza tradition in Europe and continued it in Barrington and Boca. She would also have the family over for a Sunday night dinner, which typically consisted of a surplus of appetizers, a delicious roast with mashed potatoes, and dessert.

Elaine is survived by her children; Jeff Wasylowsky and Laura (Ron) Fishman; her grandchildren, Joey, Steven, Alex, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Madi; and her siblings; Gloria (Paul) Carter and Bill (JoAnne) Trisilla.  She is preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband, Walter Wasylowsky.

The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St, Barrington, IL 60010.
