Julio Morales of Peru, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday August 26,2023, at the  age of 86. Julio is survived by his children Lourdes Morales, Julio Morales and his spouse Lourdes, their mother, Lourdes Tincopa; his grandchildren, who knew him as "Papa", Hunter Sadler, Allie Orchard (Spouse Thomas Orchard), Nico Morales, Leo Morales; and his siblings Jorge Morales, Carlos Morales, Francisca Morales, and Carmen Rosa Morales.

Dr. Julio Morales was an accomplished and highly respected Psychoanalyst being in practice for over 50 years. He received his medical degree from the National University of Trujillo Academy of Medicine.  He completed his residency in psychiatry at Fairfield Hills Hospital, and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Washington University.

He was certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and he dedicated his life to providing compassionate care to all his patients. He was also heavily involved in education as a faculty member at St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute and a clinical professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He was a distinguished member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of child Psychiatry and the American Association of child Analysis.

He dedicated his life to his medical practice, retiring in September 2022 at the age of 85, to focus on his secondary passion - the study of foreign languages.

Julio’s memory will be forever cherished by those that had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, and dedication to helping others will leave a lasting impact on all those who were touched by his presence. Everyone who remembers Julio is asked to celebrate his life in their own way. Raising a glass of your favorite drink in his memory or performing an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness in his name would be quite appropriate. Memorial contributions to Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute (www.stlpi.org) at 7700 Clayton Road, Ste. 200, St. Louis, MO, 63117 to benefit mental health education and services in the St. Louis Community would be admired. At his request, Julio’s family will be having a celebration of life in Peru where they will spread his ashes in the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
