Adela Caronongan Sison

Adela Caronongan Sison, age 93, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022. Adela was born in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines on August 23, 1929.

She enjoyed her lifetime career as an educator. She was an avid word search solver, a culinary enthusiast and had an undeniable green thumb. She had a knack for fashion and created her own through her simple imagination. Most of all, she was known for her sweet, gentle and kind persona, but not to be mistaken for her being a strict disciplinarian.

Adela is survived by her loving children, Joseph, Jerry, Jessie, Jonas Jr. Julius, Joel, and Alma; cherished grandchildren, Jonathan, Januar, Joven, Jeffrey, Jevon, Christina, Justin, Joey, Jude, Jason, Jay, Mark, Ashley, Alexa, Jordan, Jamie, Jevon, John Seth; siblings, Robert Caronongan and Purita Townsend.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jonas Q. Sison; parents, Vivencio and Jacinta Caronongan; Dominador Caronongan, Mely Mundy, Ricardo Caronongan, and Crisencia Camagay.

A visitation for Adela will be held from 2pm until 9pm on Wednesday 11/16/2022 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL. A funeral mass will be held at 11am the following morning at Our Lady of Lourdes, 4640 n ashland ave, Chicago, IL. Burial to follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
