Adele Elizabeth Migdal

Adele Elizabeth Migdal, 85, of Fox River Grove, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026. She was born in Poland on January 1, 1941, to Zygmunt and Helena (Sliwinski).

At the age of seven, Adele immigrated to Chicago with her parents and three siblings. She graduated from Jones High School and later met the love of her life, Alex, while playing tennis. Their chance meeting on the tennis court grew into a beautiful marriage that spanned more than 65 years.

A talented seamstress and dedicated entrepreneur, Adele owned A D Specialty Sewing in Fox River Grove, where she became known for her exceptional craftsmanship, specializing in custom draperies and pillows. She took great pride in her work and built a business through skill, determination, and attention to detail.

Adele loved being active and especially enjoyed playing tennis. She also had a deep love for animals, with a special place in her heart for birds. At her farm in Bangor, Michigan, she created a bird sanctuary where she lovingly cared for many species, with peacocks being her favorite.

She will be remembered for her happy spirit, playful sense of humor, generosity, and kind heart. Adele was easy to talk to, always friendly, and never afraid of hard work. She had a way of making people smile and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Adele is survived by her beloved husband, Alex; her children, Myrna Migdal, Christel (Joe) Steinberg, and Andrew (Krista) Migdal; her grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Steinberg; and her sister, Theresa Kilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Milton Sliwinski; and her sister, Mary Pena.
