Alan Noparstak, 83, passed away peacefully in Barrington Hills, Illinois, on May 11, 2026. Born on May 4, 1943, in Chicago to Victor and Anne Noparstak, Alan’s life was defined by an extraordinary blend of resilience, ambition, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved. At just sixteen, Alan helped assume head of household to support his family after the untimely death of his father—a testament to the character that would define his entire life.
His professional journey was a classic story of American perseverance. While attending DePaul University at night, Alan began his career sweeping floors at a large printing company. Through grit and vision, he rose to Production Manager before forming a partnership and launching his own successful business, eventually becoming a respected leader and entrepreneur in the printing industry.
Beyond his professional success, Alan was a devoted family man. He shared 53 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lisabeth (Bette). He was a proud father to Chalen (Jeffrey) Bielski and Travis (Alexi) Noparstak, and a doting grandfather to Graclyn, Brynn, Sophia, and Paulette. Whether he was traveling the world or cheering at a Chicago Cubs game, Alan’s joyful spirit and generosity made every moment memorable. Memories of Alan most likely include him sporting a vintage t-shirt holding a beverage of choice and, if you were lucky enough, you may have even seen him take the floor doing his famous “thumb dance”. (IYKYK) One may also conjure memories of him out walking the dog, weeding his own garden or talking on the last remaining flip phone (till reluctantly converting to a Smart phone in 2018). He remains a beloved patriarch whose legacy of kindness and loyalty will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
