Albert J. Antoni, Sr, 92 of Spring Hill, Florida passed away December 9, 2023. He was born in Bientina Italy on March 22, 1931. He just celebrated his 70th anniversary with his spouse Patricia A. Antoni, née Miller. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Ekco Packaging/Pactiv for 24 years.
Al was a member of Skokie Valley Power Squadron in Illinois and Tampa Power Squadron in Florida. He had a passion for boating, bowling, fishing, golf and especially watching wrestling. He loved to tinker in his workshop making things and working on cars and motors. He was the ultimate DIYer. He built go carts for the kids when they were little, a porch for their lake house and many woodworking projects. He never shied away from any challenge put in front of him.
He is survived by his spouse Patricia and four children, Albert Jr. (Maggie) Antoni, Thomas (Sandy) Antoni, Cynthia (James) Geske and Lawrence (Diane) Antoni; grandchildren, Jeremy Antoni, Jackie (Andrew) Meyer, Patricia (Patrick) Gleichner, Lisa Antoni, Thomas Antoni Jr. and Richard Antoni, Heather (David) Schultz-Williams, Robert Schultz Jr., Nicoal Geske (Steven Nieves), Amy (Carl) Sutton and Jennifer Antoni; 22 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Antoni and Maria née Cosci; his brothers and sister, Louis (Marina) Antoni, Julius (Violet) Antoni, Gina (Gino) Belluomini, Alfred (Barbara) Antoni and Gino Antoni; grandson, Adam Antoni; and great-great-grandson; Preston Higginbottom.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Visitation will resume at the funeral on Friday, December 29 from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM. Entombment to follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines.
