Andrew Thomas Geidel Jr

Andrew Thomas Geidel, Jr, 67 of Wauconda, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2025 at his home. He was born on November 24, 1957 to Andrew and Pauline (nee Wesler) Geidel.

Andrew grew up with his family in Manchester, Connecticut where he graduated from Manchester High School. He then attended Keene State College in New Hampshire. After college he spent much of his early career working on oil rigs. Through that work Andrew was able to travel all over the world, forming his love for adventure. From the Middle East to England, he always had great stories and memories to share. After leaving the oil industry, Andrew moved to Utah with his family, where he became an avid Utah Utes fan. During his time there, he transformed his passion for motorcycles into a successful business, opening a profitable repair and custom motorcycle shop.

When his time with the motorcycle shop came to an end, Andrew made a fresh start in Colorado. There, he found new inspiration—diving into the world of sales and medical imaging—while falling in love with the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains and Gina. Andrew and Gina then moved to Illinois where he continued his work in the medical imaging field. After many years of working for others, Andrew chose his own path and ultimately opened and operated his own successful imaging companies.

Andrew found joy in the roar of a Harley Davidson, the sleek lines of a classic car, the thrill of IndyCar racing, the music of The Rolling Stones and eating some new recipe Gina whipped up in their kitchen. In his spare time, he could be found deep sea fishing, teeing off at his favorite golf course, cheering on his New England Patriots, attending a Chicago Cubs game or going to a Classic car auction. He loved his mother’s famous lasagna and always looked forward to visiting her for a big, heaping serving. Andrew’s greatest passion over the last 2 years was spending time in New Smyrna Beach, Florida hanging out at the RV, grilling on his Blackstone, strolling on the beach and going to Breakers for steamed shrimp. He was a proud American like his father and loved cheering on the Navy, honoring his father’s service.

Andrew is survived by his longtime love, soul mate and partner Gina Dellamorte; mother, Pauline (Roger Boulanger) Wesler; siblings, Michele Quinn and Noelle (Jason) Lupus; Niece and Nephew, Venice and Kai Lupus; mother and father in law, Ronald and Carolyn (Toomire) Dellamorte; Sister in law, Kim (Johnny Mundo) Dellamorte; Sister in law Lisa Vrba and nieces and nephews, Justin (Jessica), Jonathan (Melanie), Britni, Brooke, Jorrie, Jaycee, Jacob and Jayden; and great-nephew, Leo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Thomas Geidel, Sr. and his dog, The Boyz.

Andrew was known for making everyone laugh, his smile contagious, his compassion unwavering and his ability to love unconditionally. Andrew was a devoted son and a protective brother. His love knew no bounds, and his strength was a source of comfort for those closest to him. He will be remembered for his constant support and the deep love he shared with his loved ones and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
