Andrew V. Shambo, 54, of Lake Zurich, died on March 16, 2026.
Andrew was born in Arlington Heights on June 19, 1971, to parents Gary and Carol (nee Sebek) Shambo. Following Carol’s death in 1980, Gary married Geraldine Codilis, who went on to adopt and raise Andrew and his siblings.
Andrew was a very intelligent man and graduated Valedictorian of Wauconda High School in 1989.
Family meant the world to Andrew and he was always there for them when they needed help. He was incredibly reliable and hardworking. He enjoyed working on projects around the house and built many beautiful pieces of furniture. Andrew valued deep and meaningful conversation and was known for being kind and genuine.
Andrew loved going out for a good meal, starting with taking his kids to Colonial Café when they were children, and carried that pastime into their adulthood.
He loved being outdoors, and spent countless hours on Echo Lake and in the North Woods. He enjoyed fishing and boating with his brother, as well as snowmobiling and cycling.
Andrew was a beloved father, grandpa, son, brother, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Andrew is survived by his children, Cody Shambo, and Brittany (Rick) Judge, his grandchildren, Emma, Levi, and a baby girl on the way, his mother, Geraldine Shambo, and his siblings, Scott (Jennifer) Shambo, and Melissa (Ed) Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Shambo, his mother, Carol Shambo, and his dog, Lady.
