Ann Marie (Olender) Tuszynski

Ann Marie Tuszynski, 87, of Lake Barrington Shores, passed away on August 16, 2023. She was born in Chicago on March 26, 1936 to Francis and Marie (Dalka) Olender.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and GiGi, Ann was selfless and always giving. Her unstoppable energy kept her always on the go volunteering endless hours with multiple organizations including St. Anne’s Annie’s Attic as well as House of Hope for over 25 years, and at Good Shepherd Hospital in many capacities for 32 years. She also donated time to nursing homes for several more years. She used her knitting and crocheting skills to make hats for newborns, caps for cancer patients, and sleeping mats for the homeless. She used her abilities and passions to volunteer her time at St. Zachary along with pioneering (alongside husband Joe), teaching, and playing Pickleball and various other activities with her community at Lake Barrington Shores. She also taught card games (with son Dave) to seniors at Deer Park Village and Barrington Library.

Whether she was flying kites with her grand- and great grandchildren, cheering them on at their sporting events, or serving families in need, Ann was a woman who simply enjoyed life. Her infectious enthusiasm…everything about her…is and will be greatly missed.

She leaves behind her husband of over 66 years, Joseph; children, David Tuszynski, Donna (Tracy) Followell, Cynthia Kline, Camille (James) Strissel, and Robert (Andrea) Tuszynski; grandchildren, Lauren (Jonathan) O’Brien, Brittany (Chris) Dittmer, Mikayla (Eric) Feetterer, Joshua Kline, and Zachary Tuszynski; and great grandchildren, JorDan Kline, Alannah O’Brien, Brae Kline, Josiah O’Brien, and Dylan and Rory Dittmer.

A real gem!  An absolute jewel!  Truly the heart of our family!

A memorial mass for Ann will be on Friday, September 8, at 10:30am at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St., Barrington with memorial visitation to begin at 9:00am.
