Anna Marie Goudie

Anna Marie Goudie, 89 years of age and resident of Capron, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at Symphony Maple Crest in Belvidere, Illinois.

She was born on May 14, 1936, to the late Eugene M. and Loretta C. (Sowka) Niedbalsksi, in Chicago, Illinois. On June 7th, 1958, she was united in marriage to Herbert Glen Goudie in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The two spent over 67 years together building their life and family.

Anna is survived by her loving husband, Herbert G. Goudie; children Joyce (Mark) Lewis and Jeffrey (Kay) Goudie; grandchildren Michael (Jackie) Lewis, Dana Lewis, Connor des Roches, Amber Goudie, and Jessy Goudie; great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Aubrey Lewis; as well as other relatives and many friends. She will be dearly missed by many. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Loretta; as well as her daughter Christine (Blair) des Rochers- it is a blessing for the family to know they are reunited once again.

A woman of many talents, Anna spent time working as an office administrator, before beginning work as a travel agent for Crystal Lake Travel, a profession and passion that she shared with her late daughter Christine. Anna was additionally a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton, viewing her Catholic faith with much reverence. She was also a fabulous cook, and an excellent bowler, sporting a 16-pound ball. She continued bowling well into her 60’s, and participated in several bowling leagues, holding many different leadership positions. She even happened to meet her future husband, Herbert, in a bowling alley back in the day. Anna was a crafty lady as well, enjoying various forms of artwork, textured canvas, painting, knitting, crocheting, and sewing- she even made several of her daughter’s Barbie doll clothes- custom outfits that no other kids could claim! She additionally loved to travel, especially just cruising around.

A visitation will be held on (tentative) Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Anna will be laid to rest at Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary with her husband Herbert at a later date.
