Anthony Joseph Gullo

Anthony Joseph Gullo, 79, of Crystal Lake, passed away on September 10, 2024. He was born in Chicago on October 11, 1944, to Samuel and Jean (Galva) Gullo.

Anthony graduated from DePaul University and built a successful career as a commercial photographer. On June 22, 1968, he married Linda Hnetynka, and together they shared 56 years together.

Known for his kindness, patience, and unwavering loyalty, Anthony was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He never complained, always put his family first, and was fiercely protective of them. His sense of humor, especially his “Dad jokes,” brought joy to everyone around him, and he was loved by all who knew him. Anthony also found great fulfillment in serving at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, where he was a devoted and active member of the parish community.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Andrew (Stephanie) Gullo and Mary (Marco) Balderas; his beloved grandchildren, Ava, Abagail, Mayra (Edwin), Marco Jr., Giovanna (Abdul), Ivan, Anthony, Iris, and Luca; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Catherine Bellver.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will follow at Church of the Holy Apostles Cemetery, McHenry.
