Arturo G. Fernandez

Arturo G. Fernandez, 80, of Lake Zurich, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2025. He was born on January 15, 1945 in Guatemala to the late Guillermina and Mariano Fernandez.

He loved his wife and children deeply, and he cared for his nieces, nephews, and extended family just as much. His home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that made everyone feel welcome.

Arturo’s strength came from his faith in God, and he lived each day with kindness, honesty, and humility. He was devoted to his family, and his presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Maria Mirtala Fernandez; daughter, Cindy (Javier) Alanis; son, Mario (Shirley) Fernandez; step-daughter, Silvia Albanes; grandchildren, Marcos and Alexis Alanis, Mia and Ellie Fernandez, Evan Markowski; siblings, Carlos, Ana, Sheny, Estella, Olga and Patty Fernandez; nieces and nephews, Dina Guzman, Claudia (Alex) Balucating, Lorena (Alain) Balucating, Sheila (Arshad) Khan, Omar Curruchiche, Sergio (Cathy) Diaz, Sandra (Nestor) Escobar, Sheny (Estuardo) and Helen (Marvin) Monroy, Odette (Paul) Alvarez, Aldo (Darci), Andy, and Jason Argueta, Ashley (Eric) Delgado, Monica (Craig), Evelyn, and Tito Escobar, Dani Escobar, Susanne, Ariel, Mariano, and Andy Gomez, and Lourdes Fernandez.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Mario and Juan Fernandez.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 2 PM until 8 PM with a memorial service starting at 7 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment will be private.
