Audrey J. (Markgraff) Hartz

October 18, 1929 — December 30, 2017

Audrey J. Hartz, 88, of Barrington passed away on December 30, 2017.  She was born October 18, 1929 in Chicago to the late William and Hattie (nee Heller) Markgraff.

Audrey married the love of her life, Floyd Hartz, on March 2, 1948 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Barrington.  He preceded her in death in 2011 after 63 years of marriage.

She and Floyd, “Mike” as she called him, were inseparable.  Truly a match made in heaven, they enjoyed being together, whether it be cooking and baking or working on the family farm where they lived and raised a family.   She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America and St. Paul United Church of Christ.  She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty (Joseph) Ravagni; grandchildren, Lisa (Sean) Byrne and Thomas Ravagni; and great-grandchildren, Connor, Collin, Bryce, Aubrey and Brynley.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Charles; and sister, Carolyn Ball.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington.  Visitation will continue Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of a funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home.  Pastor Janna Chwalisz will be officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Audrey’s name may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 East Main St., Barrington, IL 60010.
