Audrey Marlene Sidlo

Audrey Marlene Sidlo, 88, of Inverness, Illinois passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 14, 2024. Audrey was born January 13, 1936, in Chicago to the late Jerry and Sylvia Kavale, and spent most of her growing up years in a bungalow in Berwyn. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She was so proud of her 100% Czech heritage and enjoyed cooking Bohemian meals like Pork, Sour Kraut and Dumplings. Everyone will especially miss her delicious turkey gravy which she made every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. In 1977, Audrey and Joe opened up Pace Printing and she handled the bookkeeping, typesetting, and proof reading. She enjoyed working with son, Dave, when he joined the company as a pressman. During that same time, Audrey and Joe started attending Northwest Community Church (now known as Longmeadow Community Church) where they became involved in various ministries and made many close friends. In 2013, Audrey carried on with such a positive attitude after losing Joe after almost 57 years of marriage. She was happiest when spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never hesitated to help out when there was a need with the kids and they all have very fond memories of spending time with her. In 2017 she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and was thankful to be living with Janet and Doug so they could watch over her. She never complained once as the disease took over her physical abilities. After a fall in 2020, she moved into a facility with around the clock care where we often heard that she was a favorite resident! She was truly a wonderful woman and our lives will never be the same again without her. Her faith in the Lord remained strong and she prayed for her family and friends every day. We look forward to the day when we will all be reunited in Heaven!

Audrey is survived by her children, Janet (Douglas) McAllister and David Sidlo; grandchildren, Brad (Sylver) McAllister, Jennifer (Jonathan) Cathey, Scott (Paige) Sidlo, and Samantha (Fred) Sanchez; great grandchildren; Avery and Britin McAllister, Adelyn, Lily, Brooklyn and Emma Cathey, and Everett and Scarlett Audrey Sidlo; sister Darlene (Ken) George; cousin Rick (Betty) Lastovka; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 57 years, Joseph James Sidlo; parents, Jerry and Sylvia Kavale, and daughter-in-law, Sandi Sidlo.
