Audrey Volkmann

Audrey L. Volkmann, 68, of Palatine passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA to David and Marilyn Jennings.

On May 23, 1981, Audrey married Ulrich “Rick” Volkmann. They celebrated 35 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2017.

Audrey was a creative soul, whether she was writing for her high school newspaper, showcasing her work at craft shows, playing the piano, drawing, tending to her garden, crocheting, or trying out new recipes. She thought that solving puzzles kept her mind sharp, and she found the best way to unwind was with a good book. Her home was always filled with at least one cat. Winters were for cheering on the Blackhawks, and spring and summer were all about the White Sox. But Audrey’s absolute favorite thing to do was watch her daughter grow and build her life.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Kim Volkmann (Gerald Chapman); siblings, Ellen Eggers, Connie Jennings, and Cheryl Jennings

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Bob Jennings, Bill Jennings, and Ron Eggers.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 10 AM until 11 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Rd.), Barrington, IL 60010.
