Barbara A. Carzoli, 91, of Woodstock, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026. She was born in Chicago on June 21, 1935, to John and Rita (McGann) Parkinson.
Barbara married the love of her life, Richard Carzoli, on July 17, 1954, in Chicago. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around faith and family. Richard preceded her in death this past March, just a few months shy of their 72nd wedding anniversary.
A devoted Catholic, Barbara’s faith was an important part of who she was. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and lived her faith through the way she cared for others. She was selfless, strong, faithful, and always willing to give her time to help someone in need. An avid volunteer, Barbara had a special heart for service and even trained a therapy dog to visit patients in the hospital.
Barbara loved her dogs and considered them her babies. She was also a big Chicago Cubs fan and rarely passed up the chance to cheer them on.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her as a devoted wife and mother who made everyone feel special. She was structured and strong, but she also had a wonderfully sassy sense of humor that kept those around her smiling. Above all, Barbara’s family was at the center of her life. She was deeply proud of the generations that followed her and treasured the time she spent with them.
Barbara is survived by her children, Mike (Darlene) Carzoli, Mary Lou (Wayne) Kozar, Diane (Ken) Neumann, Dave (Amy) Carzoli, Dan (Debbie) Carzoli, Matt (Sarah) Carzoli, John (Tricia) Carzoli, and Liz (Matt) Rychlik; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her siblings, Rita Long, John (Karen) Parkinson, and Thomas Parkinson.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Carzoli; her son, Gerard Carzoli; and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. followed by a luncheon at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Barbara will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Woodstock, beside Richard.
