Barbara Pleva

Lake in the Hills, Illinois,Visitation for Barbara J. Pleva nee Johnson, age 72, of Lake in the Hills, will be held on Monday, March 15th, from 4-9pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 16th, with visitation from 9:30am until the time of service at 10:30am, at the First Baptist Church, 320 E. Washington Street, Marengo, IL 60152. Pastor Jeff Hammer will officiate. Interment will be private at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary. Born June 9, 1937, in Chicago, she entered into eternal life on March 11, 2010 St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. Her passion in life was her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband Rudy Pleva of 52 years, whom she married on February 1, 1958; loving children Mark (Laurie) Pleva, Valerie (Paul) Spangard, Keith (Dawn) Pleva, Craig (Myra) Pleva, Melanie (Bryan) Hopper, and Blair (Sandy Gordon) Pleva; adored grandchildren Steven (Rachel Murray), Megan, Sam, Sean, Kent (Jennifer), Chad, Amber, Stephanie (Saul Cruz), Brooke, Christie, Jack, Charlie, and Danny; cherished great grandchildren Owen, Gwenyth, and Lucas; dear sister Ginny (late Ken) Katenhusen; several nieces, nephews, and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her infant son Kent, and her parents Reuben and Naomi Johnson nee Caster. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Provena Hospice, 77 N.
