Barbara Marie Sheahan

Barbara Marie Sheahan, (55), of Village of Lakewood, passed away on February 19, 2024, in Elgin, Illinois following a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:30 p.m., Saturday March 2, 2024, at Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014.
A raking ceremony later will occur at the family farm in Enterprise, Alabama. Barb loved her plants and will continue to shine each year as her flowers bloom in the Spring.

Barb was born in Passaic New Jersey to George and Ruth Ann Dulee on May 3, 1968. She is a 1986 Graduate of Freeport High School in Freeport Illinois. She spent almost 40 years in the banking industry starting in the teller line, working in leadership, and was currently an Officer and Lending Team Leader for Fifth Third Bank in Schaumburg Illinois. Throughout the changes in banks and locations she enjoyed helping people and was known for her great personality and gift for serving others. Barb never met a dog she did not love or a person she would not help.

She is loved by all who knew her and considered her role as Mother as her greatest gift. Barb lived her life in service of others and in the dedication to her daughter, Molly. She was so proud of the woman Molly has become and of all her accomplishments. Barb has lived with and cared for her father for many years and so loved her nieces, nephews and all her friends. She was the best friend and sister anyone could ever have. While Barb always shied away from the spotlight, she was the center of the world for many. Kind, humble, caring, and full of love best describes her.

Barb is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Ann Dulee. And survived by her daughter, Molly (Village of Lakewood), Father, George Dulee (Village of Lakewood) Brother, Tom (Beth) Dulee (Bloomington, Illinois), Nephew, Brad(Morgan) Dulee, Kimberly, Alabama, Niece, Laura (Paul) Engo III (Omaha, Nebraska), Great Nephews, Luke, Beau, and Trey Dulee and Paul (Bam) Engo IV. Molly’s Family including Uncle, Dan (Colleen) Sheahan (Cary, Illinois) Cousin, Kelsey (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) and Jake Sheahan (Denver, Colorado) and the rest of the Sheahan Clan.

We would be remiss not to mention Barb’s best friends ever Tony (Kim) Labicki, and their Children, Ben, Michael, and Natalie (Antioch Illinois) Kim has been with Barb through all her treatments making daily sacrifices for Barb’s comfort and happiness. She will always love you, Kim!
