Barbara L. Stapleton-Baumgart

Dr. Barbara L. Stapleton, age 65, of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023. She was born on September 6, 1957 in Evanston, IL to John and Marilyn Stapleton.

She was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Chicago, where she received early admission to their veterinary program after two years. Barbara spent the next six years training to become certified in veterinary dentistry. She then went on to practice at Glen Oak Dog & Cat Hospital in Glenview, IL. In 1991, Barbara purchased Barrington Animal Hospital in Barrington, IL.; however, due to health reasons she sold the practice in August of 2020. It was very important to her that her practice was purchased by a family instead of a corporation.

She was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC), and a fellow of the Academy of American Veterinary Dentistry.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband William Baumgart, whom she married on February 29, 1992 in Wilmette, IL; and their daughter Sarah (Jonathan) Sparks; her sisters Margaret Ann Felice and Mary Jane (Arthur) Krueger; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A second visitation for Barbara will be held on Tuesday January 17, 2023 from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, 60047.
