Beth Ann Hoffman

Beth Ann Hoffman, 70, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, passed away on November 4, 2022 and spent her final days on this earth lovingly surrounded by family.

She was born to the late Carol (Sue) and Edgar (Jim) Charlesworth on April 20, 1952 in Evanston, Illinois. She was the eldest of four children. As a natural caregiver, Beth led a lifelong career in education. She worked as a preschool teacher for many years, and ended her career as a Kindergarten teacher in Round Lake, Illinois. Her enthusiasm was infectious and she touched the lives of so many children and colleagues throughout her career.

Beth loved spending time in nature. She was an avid gardener and spent hours planting and caring for flowers in her yard. She had a passion for animals and enjoyed birdwatching and tending to her birdfeeders. Beth had a knack for antique shopping and loved visiting her favorite town of Woodstock, Illinois, where she spent much time lunching with dear friends, her “Golden Girls.” Beth was blessed with endless artistic talent and creativity that she showcased in her work with children, but also in her free time. She took various art classes in recent years and enjoyed expressing herself with sketching and painting. By far Beth’s greatest joy and passion in her life was her role as “Grammie” to her six grandchildren. With her heart of gold, it was impossible to be in a room with Grammie and not feel her warmth and energy radiating around her.

Beth is survived by her children; Todd (Michaela) Hoffman and Elissa (Tyler) Anderson; grandchildren Madison Hoffman, Avery Hoffman, Logan Hoffman, Ethan Anderson, Nolan Anderson, and Everly Anderson; siblings, Mark (Amy) Charlesworth and Jay (Julia) Charlesworth. Beth is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Thomas Charlesworth.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 5 PM until 8 PM with a memorial service at 7 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment will be private.
