Bonnie Macfarlane

Bonnie Macfarlane, 75, of Island Lake, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023. A vibrant soul born on February 26, 1948, in Kimberly, WI, she was the beloved daughter of Reverend James and Lillian Macfarlane.

Bonnie was an accomplished attorney, dedicating over 30 years of her life to her practice in Island Lake. Her journey in education was marked with music and law; she was a proud piano major graduate from Chicago Conservatory of Music and held a Juris Doctorate from Kent State.

On March 29, 2003, Bonnie married Ross Patterson. Together, they created a multitude of memories, visiting new places around the world and experiencing different cultures.

Outside the courtroom, Bonnie had a profound love for arts and crafts. She was passionate about making stained glass and found joy in painting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her personality and spirit.

Bonnie’s love and kindness will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Ross,  and loving dog, Bandit, who greeted everyone with a wave; her daughter, Rebecca Manwaring; and grandchildren, Jonathon (Ana), Alissa (AF Major) and Katherine Manwaring. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
