Brent Bartels

Brent A. Bartels passed away peacefully November 29, 2025 in Barrington. He was born May 20, 1947 in Napoleon, OH to Alvin and Thelma Bartels.

After graduating from The Ohio State University he served his country in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. He then went on to complete his MBA at Bowling Green State University. In 1977, Brent moved to the Chicago area where he married his beloved wife Melanie in 1982.

Brent enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles, playing video poker at casinos, and cheering for his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

Brent is survived by his wife of 43 years, Melanie, and son, Steven (Kelly) Bartels. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9:30am until the time of the funeral service at 10:30am Wednesday December 10 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington. Burial will be held privately in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery in Holgate, Ohio.
