Brian Francis Donlea

October 5, 1937 – November 5, 2026

Brian Francis Donlea, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, businessman, and friend, passed away on November 5, 2026. Born on October 5, 1937, to Francis and Elizabeth Donlea, Brian made his home in Barrington, Illinois, where he built a life filled with family, friendships, laughter, and countless memories.

Brian never met a stranger. Funny, warm, and endlessly welcoming, he had a special gift for making everyone feel at home. He was a friend to many, a natural storyteller, and a man who could deliver a toast like none other. Whether gathered around a table with family or sharing a story with friends, Brian brought people together and made every moment a little more memorable.

An avid fisherman and devoted Chicago Cubs fan, Brian found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to travel, explore new places, and make memories along the way. As the proud owner of his own business, Durashield, Brian took pride in his work and the life he built through his dedication and determination.

Above all else, Brian cherished his family. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and took great joy in celebrating every milestone, accomplishment, and special moment in their lives. His love for his grandchildren was immeasurable, and he treasured the memories made with each of them.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Donlea; his brother Michael; his sister Deborah; his children, Patrick (Kelly), Charles (Amy), and Mary (Christopher); his step-sons, Philip and Andrew; and his 12 grandchildren: Kaleigh, Jacob, Lindsey, and Zachary (children of Richard); Sidney, Brian, and Elise (children of Patrick); Abigail and Nolan (children of Charles); and Lillian and Finnegan (children of Mary), Courtney (daughter of Andrew), and great-grandson William (son of Courtney).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Elizabeth Donlea, and his eldest son, Richard Edward Donlea (Debbie).

Brian leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and family. He will be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit, unforgettable stories, perfectly timed toasts, and the warmth he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Though he may be gone, the stories, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
