Bridget "Bridie" Rabyk

Bridget “Bridie” Rabyk, 96 ½ , of Hoffman Estates, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on October 2, 2021. She was born on February 26, 1925 in Scotland and was one of the 11 children of Cornelius and Jane Mealey.

Bridie proudly served in the British Navy as a Red Cross nurse during World War II. She was a proud homemaker and greatly loved being a wonderful, kind and loving mother; grandmother “Nanny”, “Granny”; and great-grandmother “GiGi” “Nanny”. She also enjoyed gardening, crosswords and puzzles.

She touched so many lives with her spirit of love and caring and will be greatly missed.

Bridie is survived by her daughters, Linda Lee and Jane (Jim) Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Bridget, Christopher (Lori) and Shawn Lee, Andrew (Carolyn) and Timothy (Cynthia) Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Emma, Jay, Roman, Carson, Oliver, Nora and Sebastian; her younger sister, Agnes “Nessie” Rabyk.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by the love of her life, her husband Roman.

Services and interment for Bridie will be held privately.
