Bruno Dworak

Bruno Dworak, 92 years of age and resident of Lake Barrington, Illinois, was called home by the Lord on October 23, 2025.

He was born on November 5, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to Agnes (nee Kostuch) and Bruno Dworak. Growing up in Bucktown, Bruno embraced the responsibility of being the eldest child of a large family. As a roller-skating guard at Riverview Roller Rink, he met and courted the love of his life, Sheila. After marrying and having children, the family moved to Skokie where they resided for 47 years as members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Known for his strong work ethic, Bruno was a machinist and foreman at U&S Machined Products for 40+ years. Both an avid fisherman and gardener, Bruno especially loved rooting for Chicago sports teams. Bruno was a well-respected, dedicated family man, who was admired for his dependability, kindness, patience, loyalty, and quiet good nature. Super Papa, as he was called by his great-grandchildren, will be missed by all who knew him.

Bruno is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Sheila (nee Duggan) Dworak; children Thomas (Mary Schroeder) and Timothy Dworak; grandchildren Michael (Rebecca Wendt) Dworak, Daniel Dworak, Brandi (Christopher) Drury, Sydney Dworak, and Kyra Dworak; great-grandchildren Hailey Dworak, Cayden Drury, Nicholas Drury, and Legend Bello; sister Patricia Sapp, brother-in-law Dennis Sapp, sister-in-law Joanne Kilian, and brother-in-law Rolf Kilian; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Agnes (Kostuch) and Bruno Dworak; and his siblings Theresa Wesson, Robert Dworak, Joann Dworak, and Leonard Dworak.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela Street, Barrington, IL 60010, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father Rodolfo Ramirez. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
