Cary, Illinois,A Mass for Carl Lafin, 68, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2010, at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin St.), Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. A reception will immediately follow at the church. Father Fred Licciardi will officiate. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Born Sept. 6, 1941, in Chicago, he passed away Wednesday, March 10,2010, at his home. Carl served in the US Navy for four years. While in the Navy, he was a photographer on the Presidential Ship, the USS North Hampton, and was on board during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Carl was a member of St. Anne Church. He was the loving husband of Rosalie (nee Mazzuca), whom he married August 16, 1964; loving father of Gregory (Viviana) Lafin and Carissa Tronolone; and loving grandfather of Isabella and Sophia Tronolone, and Bianca and Mia Lafin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Agnes (nee Kazak); and sister, Carlene Lafin.
