Carol Ann (Hartley) Michalek

Carol A. (Hartley) Michalek, 82 of The Village of Lakewood, IL passed away peacefully February 6, 2024.  She was born January 15, 1942 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Charles E. and Josephine E. (Lowry) Hartley.

She attended elementary schools in Henderson, IL and in Altona, IL before moving to Hoopeston, IL where she graduated from high school in 1959.  She attended Southern Illinois University.  Carol married Michael Michalek in 1972 and lived nearly fifty years in Denver, CO before moving back to Illinois.

She is survived by her sisters, Linda Bettisworth and Sarah Metzger; her sister-in-law, Carol Hartley; step-children and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother.

Burial services will be held privately in Galesburg, IL.
