Caroline Ross Creamer was born on April 24, 1970, in Los Angeles, California, to Peter and Gretchen Creamer. She passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 55, after a brave and determined battle with colon cancer, surrounded by love and held in the hearts of those who knew her.
Caroline was a friend to all. She had a huge heart, a generous spirit, and a rare gift for truly listening. People felt seen, heard, and understood in her presence. She was compassionate, thoughtful, and deeply loyal—someone who showed up fully for others, whether as a friend, colleague, family member, or partner.
Caroline attended Campbell Hall and went on to earn a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California. While at USC, she spent a semester in Italy studying Italian historical and modern architecture, an experience that reflected her curiosity, love of learning, and appreciation for thoughtful design and history.
Caroline built an accomplished and respected career in construction and project management, where her architectural background, strategic mind, and people-centered leadership style distinguished her. She most recently served as a Senior Construction Manager at Amazon, leading complex, multi-million-dollar projects across the Midwest. In this role, she was widely trusted as an expert and mentor, known for her calm authority, integrity, and ability to bring cross-functional teams together to deliver results with excellence and efficiency.
Prior to Amazon, Caroline spent sixteen years at Westfield Corporation (later acquired by URW), where she oversaw commercial construction and tenant coordination for dozens of simultaneous projects, contributing to major retail developments and redevelopments across the country. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Project Manager at Rivers & Christian Architects, managing large-scale airport infrastructure projects for major airlines including American, United, and Japan Airlines. Throughout her professional life, Caroline was admired not only for what she accomplished, but for how she led—with trust, clarity, and genuine care for people.
She is survived by her longtime boyfriend, George Thomas; her older brother, John Creamer, and his husband, Edd; and by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was also deeply devoted to her beloved golden retriever, Finley, who brought her constant companionship, comfort and joy. Caroline was diagnosed with colon cancer in the fall of 2024. She faced her illness with courage, resilience, and quiet strength, undergoing extensive treatment at Northwestern. Even in the hardest moments, she remained focused on others, grateful for love, and grounded in grace.
