Carson Geddes Greene

Carson Geddes Greene, 73, took his last breath peacefully, August 18, 2022.  He was born May 1, 1949 in Evanston, IL.

Beloved husband of Allison Joy (Roberts) for 28 years; loving father of five children; brother of two; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Carson will be deeply missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Carson and Mona Elizabeth (Blondell) Greene and his brother, Richard Andrew Greene.

With a lifelong passion for flying, Carson started flying lessons at the age of 14. He soloed on his 16th birthday and had his private license at 17. Carson continued flying activities in college at SIU in Carbondale as a member of the Flying Salukis. He would fly students between Carbondale and Chicago and other destinations.

Carson became involved in aircraft lending with Piper Acceptance Corporation in 1975, Peoria, IL.  After joining Piper, Carson covered an eight-state territory out of Illinois. During that period, he also picked up his Commercial, Multi-Engine Instrument ratings.

He left PAC in 1985 to pursue capital equipment leasing at that time with The Chase Manhattan Bank.  He eventually retired as VP of Sales for National Machine Tool Financial Corporation.

Carson was a volunteer pilot and board member for LifeLine Pilots, an organization he held dear to his heart.  Since 2004, he flew over 30 missions for them.  He was a former member and field master for Spring Creek Bassets Hounds.  It was through this group he met his wife, Allison.    He was also a social member of Fox River Valley Hunt.

Carson’s greatest joys in life were his family, friends, flying, cars, and travel.

A visitation will be Friday, August 26, from 3pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington.  Carson’s funeral will be Saturday, August 27, at 2:00pm at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 337 Ridge Rd, Barrington.
