Catherine “Kay” (Stirber) Bottie, 97, Lake Barrington, IL died on January 21, 2024.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1926 to Regina (nee: Phelan) and Francis Hanny, raised by Loretta “Laura” Hanny.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Bottie and her siblings Frank and Bill Hanny and Dorothy Riehl, and her grandson Christopher Anthony Jarney.

Survived by her children, Lorraine Jarney (Chris-dec.), North Carolina, Constance Washnik (Andy-dec.), North Carolina, Art Bottie (Sally nee: Gracie), Maine, Mary Bottie (Jim Austgen) Illinois, Jeanne-Marie Lombardi, Illinois, Allison Colasurdo (Tim) New Jersey and her husband Raymond Stirber, Illinois.

Loving grandchildren Crystal, Regina, Megan – Tanya, Nicholas – Emily, Anthony – Shelbey, Scott, Luke - Chloe. Delightful great-grandchildren Brooklin, Nicole, Christopher, Makayla, Olivia, Alee – Lucas, Madison – Payton, Alexander, Avery and Darren.

There will be visitation at Davenport Family Funeral Home in Barrington, IL on Tuesday January 23, 2024 from 4-8 PM.   Additional visitation at Saint Anne Catholic Community, Barrington, IL on January 24, 2024 10-11 AM followed by Catherine’s funeral mass. In New Jersey, visitation at Vander Platt Funeral Home, Wyckoff will be Saturday January 27, 2024 11 AM-1 PM followed by the burial service at Ascension Cemetery, Monsey, NY.

Catherine will always be remembered for her passion as a mother and her strong faith in the Lord.  Her keen interests include reading, gardening, history, and politics. Her ministry to others in need was fulfilled daily through Saint Anne Project Hope and her volunteer work at House of Hope resale shop. Her efforts helped feed the hungry and provide support for those in need. Catherine will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
