Charles “Bob” Robert Foster, 93, of Lake Barrington Woods, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in his home.
Bob was born in Blue Island, Illinois on August 9, 1933, to parents Theodore Guest and Gladys Helene (nee Young) Foster. In 1952, Bob was the Illinois State Wrestling Champion. Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country faithfully during the Korean Conflict.
Bob met Mary Lou McClintock while the pair worked at the same bank in California. The couple were married on May 7, 1966, and together they raised their two daughters, Catherine and MaryBeth.
Bob loved to sail, was a skilled watercolor artist, and enjoyed reading sci-fi novels and Harry Potter. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Lou Foster, his daughters, Catherine Sunderlage, and MaryBeth (Greg) Norton, his grandchildren, Kayla (Angelo) Nelson, Vincent (Maren) Polizzi, Joseph Polizzi, and David Polizzi, and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rae Bolstad.
