Charlotte J. Fermoyle

Charlotte J. Fermoyle, 78, of Crystal Lake, recently of Rockton, IL, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2022. She was born on July 2, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Anna Treptow.

Charlotte was a proud 1962 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Chicago, where she was a Majorette. Growing up in Chicago, Charlotte lived near Jensen Park where she met her husband, Dale. The couple married on May 25, 1963 in Chicago and made Crystal Lake their home in 1973, where they raised their 2 children.

After graduating high school, Charlotte attended cosmetology school to become a hairdresser. During her career as a hairdresser, she became very good friends with her co-workers. Together, they greatly enjoyed going out to celebrate each other’s birthday.

Above all, Charlotte loved her family. She loved to travel and enjoyed being a band mom for her kids, following the Heraldry Guard all over the Midwest. She was always excited and eager to travel to visit her niece and nephews all throughout the country; she loved cooking for her family (especially her famous mashed potatoes!) and she loved being a grandma most of all. She had great joy in babysitting her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their softball games, musicals and choir performances.

In addition to her husband, Dale, Charlotte is survived by her children, Kerri (Robert) Murphy and Glenn (Kimberly) Fermoyle; grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) Murphy and Meghan (Brian) O’Connor; great-granddaughters, Maggie and Fiona; her sister, Phyllis Jessick; brother-in-law, Brian (Linnea) Fermoyle and by extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, and by her brothers-in-law.

Memorial visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 10 AM until the Celebration of Life service at 12 Noon at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be private.
