Charlotte (Wood) Olker

Charlotte W. Olker passed away peacefully May 27, 2023 at Sunrise in Barrington after a two year stay where she was well taken care of.  She was born August 3, 1930, in Chicago to Charles and Agnes Wood.

Char is survived by her children, Stephen C. (Maureen) Olker, Christina Robertson, Thomas J. (Georgia) Olker, and Charles J. (Michiko) Olker; grandchildren, Michael S. (Jennifer) Olker, Jennifer (Brian) Willig, William Robertson, Stephanie Robertson, Elise (Jose) Zarate, Charles J. Olker, Jr, and Joy C. Olker; great grandchildren, David and Carrie Willig, Willow Olker, Jada Robertson, Nicholas and Ariel Zarate, Lilith Olker, Kassidy Morrison, and Evelyn Arends; and sister, Diane Cynowa.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Nicholas, sister, Dolores Olker; and her parents.

Char was the secretary and co-owner of Forrest Press for more than 50 years.  She was a loyal volunteer at Resurrection Hospital, receiving an award for 500 volunteer hours.  Char loved playing golf at Biltmore Country Club with her husband and the Women’s league; playing Bridge with other couples; and the St. Anne’s Women’s Club. During her free time at Sunrise, she loved playing Bingo, where she was a frequent champion.

Visitation will begin at 9am until the funeral service at 11am Wednesday June 14 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.  Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.
