Christa G. Hatting

Christa G. Hatting, 95, from Oregon, Illinois passed away to her eternal home on October 9, 2022 in McHenry, IL. She was born on September 21, 1927 in Gandu, Germany to the late Arthur and Ida Ulbrecht.

Christa was a beautiful and remarkably talented woman throughout her life. After coming to the U.S., she worked as a stewardess for PanAm Airlines. Later in life she enjoyed working in the International Studies Graduate Program at the University of South Carolina.

Her hobbies included painting, gardening, cooking and especially baking. She excelled in all these activities and still made time for her family, who she loved dearly.

Christa is survived by her children, Diane (Dave) Scott and Mark Hatting; her grandchildren, Mary Christa and Markie Hatting as well as Sean (Jess) Scott, Lauren (Alex) Arasmith, Amanda (Sean) Dupree, as well as Caitlin and Brittany Scott; and her great-grandchildren, Peyton and Ashton Scott.

She is proceeded in death by her grandson, Markie Hatting; her husband, John Hatting; her brother, Helmut Ulbrecht; and parents, Arthur and Ida Ulbrecht.

A celebration of Christa’s life will be held on November 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 236 W Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake.
