Christopher Shaw

Christopher John Ira Shaw, 61, of Lakewood, IL took his last breath at 3:15 p.m. on July 16, 2026 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL.

He was born July 11, 1965 in San Diego, CA to Cmdr. Charles Shaw and Nancy (Hall) Shaw. Chris married Becky (Jackson) Shaw on May 29, 1994 in her hometown of Elkville, IL and she survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Olivia Shaw of Lakewood, IL; California siblings—Kimberly Shaw of Hercules, Mark (Patty Bonsall) Shaw of Oakland, Dr. Rebecca Shaw (Mike DeLapa) of Carmel, and Katherine Shaw (Dav Rausch) of San Francisco; nieces and nephews Sam Shaw, Ro Shaw, Charlie DeLapa, Silas Shaw, Townes Shaw, Kate Richardet, and Olivia, Demani, Isla, and Audrey Jackson; and his close brother- and sister-in law Mitch and Toni Longmeyer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. Chris loved to cook, eat seafood and a good, marbled ribeye, hold court in his garage with the neighbors, photobomb with peace signs and rabbit ears, vacation in Maine, and review weekly college football scores with his daughter. Most importantly he loved and adored his daughter. He was a funny and loving husband, father, and friend to many. 

Funeral Service for Chris will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 4 PM, visitation will immediately follow from 4:30 PM until 7 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
