Corinne Ann Schrempf (nee Peters), age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023.
Corinne was born on April 4, 1950, in Chicago, IL. After successfully raising her family of 5 children, Corinne returned to college to receive her Art degree and teaching certification and later her Master’s degree in School Administration. She was a dedicated art teacher at Von Steuben High School for 18 years, retiring in 2012. After retiring as an educator, she continued to focus on her art, dedicating it to celebrate her faith.
In retirement, Corinne returned as an active member of her church community. She was a devoted Catholic who found great comfort and joy in her faith. She enjoyed singing in the choir and volunteering with her church community. Corinne always liked the adventure and escape that travel brings, and her favorite vacation destination was Walt Disney World. She had a youthful spirit and enjoyed regularly visiting the parks and sharing the Happiest Place on Earth with her family.
Corinne is survived by her loving children, Gene (Sarah) Schrempf, David (Kelly) Schrempf, Yvonne Piarowski, Robert (Michele) Schrempf, and Joanne (Jim) Rich; cherished grandchildren, Alex Schrempf, Kara Piarowski, Anya Piarowski, Lilyana Rich, Juliette Rich, and Mylo Rich; siblings, Walter Peters, Brian Peters, Ken Peters, Fredrick Peters, Martin Peters, Michael Peters, and Alicia Gonzalez.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Robert M. Schrempf; her sister, Naomi (Peters) Chamberlain, her brother Patrick Peters and her parents Walter and Otillie (Drombrowski) Peters.
A visitation for Corinne will be held from 4pm until 8pm on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A second visitation will be held at the funeral home the following morning from 8:30am until prayers at 9:30am. A 10am Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL. Burial at Crystal Lake Memorial Park in Crystal Lake, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Corinne’s name to American Heart Association.
