Dale Louis Seay of Mundelein, IL passed away on Thursday October 20, 2022, at age 84.

Dale was born to Elsie and Granville Seay in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 25, 1938. The family eventually moved to Denver, Colorado when Dale was in junior high school. He attended East Denver High School, graduating in 1956. Dale proudly earned a degree in physics from Colorado University where he was also active in the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He went on to get his master’s degree in business administration from The University of Denver. He began his career in the aerospace industry, working for Martin Marietta to design and build the Titan rocket that was used by NASA. Dale continued his career in the airline industry, working for United Airlines for over 20 years. He eventually became an entrepreneur, using the skills he acquired to start DLS Systems, which is still flourishing under the management of Dale’s partners.

On March 21, 1959, Dale married his high-school sweetheart, Janice Jones. Together, they shared over 63 years together and had three loving daughters, four granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. While he traveled often for work, the trips he enjoyed the most were the vacations he took with family and friends. Dale was an avid outdoors man with a love for skiing, sailing, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed a lifetime of golf and tennis, playing both regularly up until 2020. He had a passion for cars, but his 1971 Corvette Stingray was always his favorite.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Janice; his daughters Barbara Donnegan (Timothy), Kim Seay (Steve Janoskey), Allison Barnes (Joseph); four granddaughters (Alexandrea, Kathleen, Natalie and Samantha), two great-grandchildren (Fionn and Orla); and sister Beverly Howell (John). He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
