Daniel John Glassmaker

Daniel John Glassmaker, of McHenry, passed away September 1, 2026 at the age of 77.

He was born November 4, 1948 in Carroll, IA, the son of the late John and Marge (Willbrandt) Glassmaker. While raised by a farming family, Daniel found himself living in many states throughout his life – Hawaii being his favorite.

Daniel was the loving father of the late Kristina Glassmaker, Matthew (Jennyfer) Glassmaker, and Jessica (Andreas) Kuhn; beloved grandfather of Jacqueline, Hailey, and Emily Kuhn; cherished brother of Vicki Menke; and former spouse turned best friend of Jacqueline Carroll.

A true Harley-Davidson enthusiast and Corvette lover, Daniel lived life in the fast lane, and he wouldn’t have had it any other way.

When he wasn’t out chasing the next adventure, Daniel could often be found fishing, cheering loudly for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Iowa Hawkeyes, or completely lost in the music he fiercely loved.

Daniel was legendary for his green bean casserole at Thanksgiving and his strawberry-rhubarb pie in the summer; recipes that may have been delicious but were made even more special because they came from him.

Daniel didn’t just live life to the fullest, he took it for a joyride. He leaves behind countless memories, stories, laughs, and adventures that will keep him riding alongside us in spirit for years to come.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be planned for a later date.
