Dan's life was a rich tapestry of adventure, music, and love. His early years in Michigan with his younger brother, Kevin, were filled with the carefree adventures of youth, including the memorable mishaps of occasionally getting his car stuck in the woods around Twin Lake, MI. A proud member of the first graduating class of Rolling Meadows High School, Dan's life was marked by a diversity of interests and achievements. During his 33-year career at AAA Painting Company as a field expert and project manager, Dan displayed remarkable dedication and skill. His ability to solve problems with a touch of humor made him a beloved figure in his professional life. Dan's 42-year marriage to his cherished wife, Susan “Sue” Ofloy, was a testament to their enduring love. Their daily walks together symbolized their unbreakable bond.

Dan's legacy of love and wisdom is carried on by his sons, Erik and Colin Ofloy, and his grandchildren, Eli, Rhett, and Isaiah, who brought immense joy to his life. A man of many talents, Dan's musical journey included playing the trumpet, guitar, banjo, and piano. He was known for his inventive spirit, from hosting memorable poker parties to building a hovercraft, growing exotic plants, and assembling a Whizzer motorized bicycle. Dan enjoyed fishing, a pastime he cherished for its peace and the opportunity it provided to teach and bond with his grandchildren. In Dan's memory, donations to the American Heart Association are appreciated, reflecting his generous nature.
