Daniel James Richards, 69, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at his home in Crystal Lake. He was born November 11, 1947 in Pottsville, PA to Daniel and Viola (nee Tanner) Richards.
Dan was retired from the Patriot News Company. He was the treasurer of the local Stock Investment Club. Dan was an avid theatre goer and appreciator of the arts. He loved his family and close friends.
He is survived by his significant other of 35 years, Ammonn “Chuck” Schneider; his sister, Gail (James) Jordan of Nesquehoning, PA; his close cousin, Robert (Ruth) Madenfort; his nephew, James P. (Lisa) Jordan of Bethlehem, PA; his niece, Jennifer Hotsko of Harrisburg, PA; and his great nephew, Anthony Hotsko.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 6pm until time of funeral service at 7pm, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Additional services will be held in Harrisburg, PA.
Memorial contributions may be given to Touchstone Theatre, 321 East 4th St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
