David John Drohan
May 13, 1965 – September 10, 2025
David John Drohan, 60, of Barrington, Illinois and Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away on September 10, 2025.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Odenkirk; his parents, David and Denise Drohan; his sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Christopher Wagner; and his nephews, Christopher and John Wagner. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his sister, Treacy Drohan, and his nephew, Timothy Wagner.
Dave was born in Yonkers, NY, attended Sacred Heart grade school and moved to Barrington in 1977. He graduated from Barrington High School and later earned his degree from Villanova University. He spent much of his professional life in sales.
Dave lived life with an undeniable passion—especially when it came to sports and motorcycles. He was an avid participant in adult hockey, football, softball leagues, and pickup basketball games. But his greatest joy came from riding and working on dirt bikes and motorcycles, a lifelong love that brought him both adventure and peace. He will be remembered for his warm heart, sharp wit, and loyal friendships. Dave had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life and maintained friendships that spanned decades. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A wake will be held on Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home in Barrington. A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 19, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Barrington, followed by burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s memory to Skyrise Chicago 2025, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, or Project Hope of Barrington.
