David was born in Oklahoma City on May 17, 1938 to Francis and Stella Sprehe, as the 4th of 9 children. He attended Bishop McGuiness high school, and graduated from Regis University in Denver, CO.
He honorably served as a member of the U.S. Air National Guard reserves for 8 years. He married his loving wife Mary Lynn (Halpin) Sprehe on October 26, 1968 and celebrated over 55 years of marriage. David and Lynn were the proud parents of 3 sons, Michael, Stephen (Wendy) and Dan, and 2 grandsons, Matthew and Ryan. He is also survived by his siblings Stella (late Charles) Deal, Sam (Pam) Sprehe, and Andy (Mary Jo) Sprehe; and sisters in law, Ann Kerr and Elaine Sprehe. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel; siblings, Paul (Montine), Daniel, Tim, Chris (Donna), and Stephen (Kay); and his parents Francis and Stella Marie.
Dave retired after a successful 37 year career in pharmaceutical sales. Following his retirement, he continued to serve to his community at Lake Zurich high school for 13 years as Writing Center Supervisor and a substitute teacher.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2pm Friday April 19 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington. Visitation will be at the church from 12pm until the time of mass. Burial will be held privately.
