Denise Ann Krysciak, 71, of Hawthorn Woods, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospital.
Denise was born in Peoria County on October 9, 1954, to parents William Joseph “Joe” and Beverly (nee Nuss) Blank while en route to the hospital. While standing up in a friend’s wedding, Denise caught the eye of one of the groomsmen, Andrew Krysciak. The couple went on to get married on August 20th 1977, and together they raised their two children. Denise’s love for her family was her true legacy. She loved unabashedly and strove to make everyone feel seen and welcomed.
Denise had a long and successful career in healthcare, where her compassion and love for others shone. She also volunteered for many years as a secretary for the Pop Warner Youth Football & Cheerleading Organization in Chicago. She was a dedicated worker who put the same amount of effort in all that she did. Denise enjoyed crafting and spent countless hours crocheting, knitting, making needlework kits and working with ceramics, to name a few. She was an incredibly humble and selfless woman whose passion and light touched all. She will be missed dearly by those who knew her.
Denise is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Andrew, her children, Andy (Jennifer) Krysciak, and Lauren (Nick) Cosentino, her grandchildren, Camryn, Kaleb, Brynn, Harper, and Beckett, her siblings, Colleen (Allen) Belcher, Joyce Blank, Rene’ Blank, Jan Blank, Eric (Terrie) Blank, Amy (Kevin) Wise, Andrew (Ann) Blank, and Jon (Lyndsay) Blank, and her nieces and nephews, Debbie (Artie), Jeff (Hope), Scott (Emily), Martin (Joanna) Krysciak, Tommy, Matthew, Kyle, Cole, Danielle (David), Tracey, Benjamin, Jordan, Maddie, and Joseph. She also served as a godmother to several and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt, Bette Vehlow, her in-laws, Stanley and Mary Krysciak, her sister-in-law, Theresa (the late Jack) Byrne, and her brother-in-law, George (Maria) Krysciak.
