Dennis B. Kyrouac

Dennis B. Kyrouac, 73, of Crystal Lake Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on September 13, 1949 in Harvey, IL to Bernard and Ellen Kyrouac.

Dennis spent his life helping, always putting the needs of others before his own. He spent the majority of his career as a youth mental health counselor at Valley View Correctional Center guiding hundreds of youth through rehabilitation. He continued his career at Rosecrance, working as a drug and alcohol prevention counselor and educator.

Dennis was a music lover and a talented percussionist. He enjoyed watching his children pursue their own artistic pursuits. He was a fan of all Chicago sports and could always be counted on to tell a good dad joke. He was a proud father and grandfather, supporting his family in all their endeavors.

Dennis will be deeply missed by his loving wife of over 50 years, Sharon (nee Bellone); his children, Bryan (Naomi) Kyrouac, Jason Kyrouac, Rebecca (Mike) Van Poucke, Chris (Jenni) Kyrouac; his grandchildren Adam Kyrouac, Abigail Kyrouac, Matthew Kyrouac, Joshua Van Poucke, Elijah Van Poucke, and Zoey Kyrouac; his sister Diane (Ron) Falete.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Ellen Kyrouac.

Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2023 from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11:30 AM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Burial to follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
