Diana Therese Boone

Diana Therese Boone, 69, of Fox River Grove, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023. The youngest of 9, Diana was born on February 25, 1954 to Raymond and Irene Smielewski.

While attending Quincy College, she met Steven Boone. On September 14, 1974, they married and were blessed with 2 children, Stacy and Vanessa. They celebrated 29 years of marriage until his passing in 2003.

Diana was a vibrant soul, known for her love of travel, always up for a new adventure, and her comforting and loving nature.

Above all else, Diana held a special place in her heart for her beloved granddaughter, Esme. Their bond was a source of immeasurable joy, and the time they spent together was filled with love, laughter, and the kind of moments that only a grandmother and granddaughter can share.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever warm our hearts.

Diana was the wife of Steven Boone; mother of Stacy (Gene) Gajos and the late Vanessa Boone; cherished Ba of Esme and Hailey Gajos; beloved sister of Margaret Smielewski, Jim (the late Penny) Simel, Bernadette (Kris) Adis, Paul (Celia) Smielewski, Mary (Tim) Maher, Dorothy (the late Carl) Lange, the late Barbara (Terry) Brown, the late Tom Smielewski; and by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday October 13, 2023 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 North First St., Cary, IL at 9:30am. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am. Interment will be private.
