Crystal Lake, Illinois,Donald Keith Burns, 48 of Crystal Lake died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Centegra Hospital, Woodstock. He was born June 7, 1961 in Brooklyn, NY. He was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, NY and New York University. On June 3, 1989, he married his soul mate and the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann (Chirumbolo) Burns. They have two adorable daughters, Rebecca Ann Burns and Hannah Nicole Burns, both living at home. He was a loving son to this parents Don and Louise Burns of New Port Richey, FL; a wonderful brother to his sisters, Colleen (Bruce) Messling of Spokane, WA, and Christine (Patrick) Dydzuhn of Rockaway Beach, NY. He is also survived by his in-laws, Tony and Pat Chirumbolo of Manchester, NJ, Roseann (Andrew) Prusan of Howell, NJ, and Patty (Michael) Scarola of Howard Beach, NY. He was a fun uncle to his nieces and nephews and a kind and generous friend to many who loved him. He was preceded in death by his sister Kathleen Burns, and his grandparents, Caterina and Rocco DeVito and Bertha and Chester Burns. Don worked for Wrigley Gum in Chicago, IL for over twenty-two years. His co-workers and customers were impressed with his dedication and loyalty to the company. Music was his passion and the drums were his beat. Don was forever drumming to a tune. He performed with the band, The Davenport Project, and he will be greatly missed by his band members. The visitation will be on Tuesday, December 15 from 2-9pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Wednesday, December 16 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake where he will lie in state from 9am until the Mass. Father Brian Grady will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery, Crystal Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations for Donald?s daughters will be greatly appreciated.
