Donald Joseph Felz

Donald J. Felz, 93, of Crystal Lake passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021.  He was born in Chicago on February 10, 1928 to Henry and Lillian Felz.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 25th, from 10am until the time of a service at 12 noon at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.

Donald enjoyed spending summers in Hayward, Wisconsin and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.  He loved Country Donuts, golf and fishing. His family was his pride and joy.

He was a Veteran of the Army and stationed in Panama.  While serving, Don was on the boxing team and often told stories of his championship games.

Don retired from Illinois Bell in 1983 after 31 years.

Survivors include his children, Donald (Debi) Felz, Thomas Felz and Kathy (Ray) Zuniga; grandchildren, Dara (Michael), Garrick (Katie), Brett (Brianna), Matthew, Crystal (Erik), Chad, Ryan, Don (Amanda) and Jacqui (Kian); great grandchildren, Gabriel, Ella, Aiden, Levi, Jaxson, Ashlyn, Calvin, Brayden, Taya, Lily, Emerson, Audrey, Maryn, Oaklynd, Hudson and Vincent.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edna Mae in 2013; grandson, Nicholas; siblings, Henry, Jane Carter and Claire Reilly.
